A North Korean and Chinese soldier, expelling the United Nations forces, represented a.o. by a caricature of General MacArthur below right. He is stepping over a torn and partly rolled up map of China's coast, with two large red arrows moving in from Korea and the sea, representing presumed invasion plans by USA and Allied troops.
Poster produced by ten professors and teachers of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (中央美术学院), Beijing. The Academy organized many activities to support the Korean War effort, including sending teachers and students to the front to make drawings.
The copy in our collection is from the second impression (December 1952), and not in a good state of preservation. A copy from the first impression is in the collection of the IISH (BG E16/268), also damaged.
