The Sixth Plenum of the 19th Central Committee of the CCP convened in Beijing from 8-10 November 2021. It passed a "historical resolution" (Resolution on Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the CPC’s 100 Years of Endeavors). It was only the third of its kind, after Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping each enacted one, in 1945 and 1981, respectively. This third one's passing thus elevated Xi Jinping to the same level as Mao and Deng. Xi moreover was glorified as being "great", "glorious" and leading a "correct party". It further praised Xi as the "core", "backbone", and "anchor", for playing a "guiding role" and as the "principal founder" of Xi Jinping Thought, which will carry on the party’s goal of turning China into a "great modern socialist country" by 2049.
