This poster, possibly a fake, shows Mao Zedong, Lin Biao, Jiang Qing, Zhou Enlai, Kang Sheng, and Chen Boda, on the rostrum of the Gate of Heavenly Peace, Beijing, during one of the Red Guards mass inspections of 11966. It was published on the occasion of the establishment of the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee on 10 April 1968. The oil painting reproduced is from 1967.
The Mao quotation reads "The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution is in essence a great political revolution waged by the proletarian class against the capitalist class and all exploiting classes under the guidelines of socialism. It is the continuation of the long struggle between the great revolutionary masses under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the Guomindang reactionaries, the continuation of the class struggle between the proletariat and the capitalist class."
