Part of a series marking the 60th anniversary of the CCP. Subtitled "Establish a united front to participate in the Northern Expedition" (建立统一战线参加北伐战争), this first part (of two) covers the "The First Civil Revolutionary War Period 1924-1927" (第一次国内革命战争时期 1924-1927).

It shows Sun Yat-sen calling the first meeting of the Guomindang (GMD)-CCP United Front (1924); the founding of the Whampoa Military Academy (1924); the May Thirtieth Movement (1925); Peng Pai (澎湃), an early organizer of the peasantry; and the Canton-Hong Kong Strike (省港大罢工) (1925), led, amongst others, by Su Zhaozheng (苏兆征).
