Part of a series marking the 60th anniversary of the CCP. Subtitled "Overthrow the Three Mountains and Establish the People's China" (推翻三座大山建立人民中国), this first part (of two) covers the "The Third Civil Revolutionary War Period 1945-1949" (第三次国内革命战争时期 1945-1949).
It shows Mao and Zhou Enlai arriving in Chongqing on 28 August 1945 to negotiate with Jiang Jieshi and the Guomindang; the beginning of the Civil War; US General George Marshall, who attempted to negotiate a truce; the full-fledged Civil War; Peng Dehuai; and an anti-GMD, anti-Jiang Jieshi student demonstration on Tian'anmen Square in Beijing (then Beiping) in May 1947.
