Part of a series marking the 60th anniversary of the CCP. Subtitled "Creating a party organization, leading the labor movement" (创建党的组织领导工人运动), this first part (of two) covers the "The founding period of the Communist Party of China 1919-1923) (中国共产党创建时期 1919-1923).

It refers to the influential journal La Jeunesse (Xin qingnian, 新青年), which introduced Marxism to the Chinese;  the May Fourth Movement; Li Dazhao; the group of reformers in Mao Zedong's school in Hunan, etc. The map shows the eight locations where the first Party cells emerged (Beijing, Jinan, Shanghai, Hankou, Changsha, Guangzhou, Tokyo [Japan], and Paris [France]).
