Part of a series marking the 60th anniversary of the CCP. Subtitled "Suffering serious setbacks, victory still belongs to the people" (遭受严重挫折胜利仍属人民), this first part (of two) covers "The 'Cultural Revolution' period 1966-1976" (“文化大革命”时期 1966-1976).

It shows the documents unleashing ("erroneously", the text says) the Cultural Revolution (16 May 1966); photographs related to Lin Biao's coup attempt and his subsequent plane crash (13 September 1971); photographs related to Jiang Qing's "anti-party clique", including a documents signed by Kang Sheng; workers, peasants, and soldiers going about their business.
